Free Math & Reading Tutoring
for K–5 Students Who Need It Most
Tutor-For-All connects dedicated high school tutors with elementary students from low-income families in Houston — completely free of charge. Every child deserves a fair chance to succeed in school.
The Problem Is Real
40% of children in poverty are not prepared for primary school, compared to their higher-income peers — an educational gap that widens every year.
60–70% of students in the Greater Houston area attend underfunded schools that lack the resources students need to reach their potential.
80% of HISD students come from low-income families — yet most cannot afford the private tutoring that could help close the achievement gap.
Tutor-For-All was created to change this. We target the gap early — at the elementary level — before it becomes too wide to close.

Reaching Students Early, When It Matters Most
Research shows that students who fall behind in elementary school — especially in math and reading — rarely catch up without intervention. For families who can't afford private tutoring, that gap stays open.
Tutor-For-All was founded by students at Carnegie Vanguard High School in Houston to bridge this divide. We recruit top-performing peers to tutor younger students in their community, and we've already donated over 350 books to kids who need them.
